The University of Greenwich business school offers two undergraduate tourism programmes and one postgraduate tourism programmes. The department of marketing, events and tourism offers undergraduate courses in Tourism management (BA hons) and Tourism management with language (BA hons). These undergraduate programmes have been developed to meet the demand for successful entrepreneurs and managers in tourism. It aims to provide students with a critical understanding of the study of tourism management and the global tourism marketplace, and also the ability and confidence to creatively and innovatively solve management problems in the tourism industry. You will develop skills and knowledge in areas such as tourism marketing, human resource management, innovation, product development and destination planning, while gaining insights from UK and international visits, case studies and industry speakers.
The university of Greenwich also offers a postgraduate programme in International Tourism Management (PGdip/MA). This MA, located in the stunning Greenwich World Heritage Site, has been developed to meet the growing demand for skilled and resourceful managers in the rapidly expanding tourism industry. This programme provides a sound foundation in business and management principles and, at the same time, provides for the development of specific specialist tourism skills and knowledge that are essential for a successful career in tourism management today – The programme also includes an optional placement with a tourism business or a tourism organisation.
