Panoramic Journeys is a family run company specialising in journeys to Mongolia, Bhutan and now Burma. After months of research, director James Moreton spent 5 weeks exploring both the classic and “off the beaten track” destinations within Burma.
The company now offers small group journeys and tailormade itineraries throughout the country. Panoramic Journeys believe passionately in offering journeys in which guests get truly involved and under the surface of the country. Involvement and interaction with the local communities is central when on a Panoramic Journey.
With Aung San Suu Kyi welcoming visitors who are “keen to promote the welfare of the common people and the conservation of the environment and to acquire an insight into the cultural, political and social life of the country while enjoying a happy and fulfilling holiday in Burma”, the number of tourists visiting Burma are rising rapidly.
Director of Panoramic Journeys Karina Moreton says that “Decisions made now by all stakeholders will determine the socio economic and environmental impacts of tourism for generations to come. By joining ETOG, we at Panoramic Journeys hope to not just be informed but instrumental in establishing and maintaining the role that foreign operators can play in the process of responsible and pro-poor tourism in Burma”.
