Gecko Villa

Get to meet the locals at Gecko Villa, in rural northeast Thailand. Enjoy a private pool villa holiday among the rice paddies, with freshly cooked Thai meals. A family of local Thai villagers will be happy to involve you in local activities and to show you the traditional ways of life. There are plenty of unusual things to see and do and we will be happy to ensure that you make the very most of your holiday.

Gecko Villa was founded on the principles of sustainable and responsible tourism. All proceeds are distributed within the immediate community, where we aim to provide employment to prevent traditional economic migration. We aim to protect both our physical environment and our indigenous culture and traditions, and have several programmes in place to protect our local ecology.

We very much believe that responsible travel can be enriching and rewarding for all parties involved, with direct and genuine interaction between local villagers and visitors seeking authentically Thai experiences. We should like to thank all those who have visited to date. Your holiday choice has helped educate local children, provide local employment and subsidize medical care.

We have protected local forests to prevent them from being converted into rice paddies, this protecting local flora and fauna. We have reforested former rice paddies with indigenous hardwoods. We support local “saleng” recycling programmes.
