Absolute Carpathian is a small local travel agency offering authentic Romanian experiences for those interested in wolf, bear, lynx and bird watching tours based on high quality services provided by local, experienced and hospitable people. Absolute Carpathian acts as the travel agency for Ecoshop SRL.
We collaborate exclusively with local people, thus all the revenues from our tours “stay” locally. We travel in very small groups to minimize the impact of our activities on wildlife and their environment. Our days are planned carefully to minimize travel while maximizing the chance to see wildlife. We stay in locally-owned accommodation that use mainly home grown produce, thus contributing to reducing food miles. We work with wildlife researchers to assess the impact of wildlife-related tourism activities on the environment. On most of the areas we travel to we take the time to visit some of the local traditional craftsmen to support preserving local traditions and culture.
Wildlife watching travel in the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve and the Transylvanian Carpathians (Brasov, Apuseni and Maramures areas) for small groups and individual travelers looking for authentic Romanian experiences focused on Grey Wolf, Brown Bear, European Lynx or bird watching (colonies of White and Dalmatian Pelicans, Pygmy Cormorants, large groups of Glossy Ibises, many other wetland species of birds, as well as mountain species of birds like owls, woodpeckers or the Black Stork).
We are able to offer a 10% discount to Tourism Concern Members.
As members of the Association of Ecotourism in Romania we respond to any threats to social degradation or exploitation in the local communities we work with. Working only with local businesses that employ local people we help improving the quality of life in our communities.
We have managed to find local collaborators that share our aim of preserving the local values in terms of customs, culture, food, etc. Our groups are small (average of 6, many tours with just 2 guests), with much less impact when travelling through rural areas, reducing our environmental and social impact.
We take the time to visit local traditional craftsmen. This gives our guests the chance to experience first-hand some of the local traditions and, at the same time, provides revenues and emphasis on the importance to preserve these great traditions for locals.
We collaborate exclusively with local people and locally owned businesses that employ local people for all the services we provide, thus all the revenues from our tours “stay” locally. We have managed to find local collaborators that share our goals, including the ones related to the level of pay, conditions of service and non-discrimination.
We aim to attract high quality travelers, with strong principles regarding environmental protection. All our tours are designed to minimize human impact on ecosystems and the use of all kind of resources (except of human resource).
As members of the Association od Ecotourism in Romania we support the conservation of natural areas, habitats and wildlife. We encourage all our collaborators to minimize the use of scarce and non-renewable resources and the pollution of air, land and water on any way.
We have a strong policy of leaving minimum of traces where we travel.
