Vision, Mission & Principles

Tourism Concern's mission is to ensure that tourism always benefits local people.
Our Vision
A world free from exploitation in which all parties involved in tourism benefit equally and in which relationships between industry, tourists and host communities are based on trust and respect.
Our Mission
Tourism Concern's mission is to ensure that tourism always benefits local people.
Our Principles
Independence
Tourism Concern is a non-industry based organisation and strongly believes that its independence is vital to its role.
Listening
We ensure that we listen to the opinions and perspectives of our partners in destination communities. Our campaigns are often initiated when communities and organisations come to us with requests for help.
Shared values and vision
We strongly believe in working with organisations that share our values and vision and we strive to work towards common goals throughout the collaborative process.
Inclusivity
We believe that all people have the right to participate in all decision-making that affects them both internally and in the work we do.
Ethical practices
We strive to adopt low impact "green" policies and practices and to purchase and promote fair trade products.
