Please note that neither list is definitive. The first list is of tour operators who have demonstrated proof of their policies on porters' rights and working conditions to Tourism Concern, and given us permission to make that information public. The second list is of tour operators who either do not have policies on porters' rights and working conditions, or have not demonstrated proof of those policies to Tourism Concern. If you would like more information on the porters' policies of these operators, please contact them directly.
Please note also that inclusion in this list does not denote a Tourism Concern 'seal of approval'. This is rather a list of those operators who are working with Tourism Concern in our porters campaign, using or developing guidelines on porters' working conditions, often based on those suggested by Tourism Concern. We acknowledge that the usefulness of written statements has limitations, but we feel that it is useful nonetheless to have information on operators' policies standardised.
