Naomi Klein on Tourism Concern

"Tourism Concern has a very good understanding of the dynamics and complexities of tourism’s relationship to globalisation and trade, but your campaigns manage to put a human face on the issues. Unusually for an NGO, you come over as human beings – prepared to face controversy and not to give cover, as so many NGOs do, to brutal governments."  (2007)

Naomi Klein is an international campaigner and author

About us

Tourism Concern fights exploitation in tourism. We are an independent, non-industry based, UK charity.  We have a membership of  almost 900 and we work with partners in over 20 destination countries to ensure that tourism always benefits local people.

We are the only organisation in Europe actively campaigning on tourism and human rights issues. We work tirelessly to expose and challenge tourism's exploitative practices.  Tourism Concern takes a solution driven approach and has played a crucial role in promoting forms of tourism that provide meaningful benefits to people in destination communities.
